Hello Journeyman families,
I apologize for the late recap of Tuesday. Apparently it's not only the kids who need to get back in the swing of things! It was a joy to see everyone again after the break, and to welcome our new student, Abigail, to our class.
Presentations next week will be by Hope, Meredith, Ryan and Maren. We will be focusing on timeline cards and will incorporate the skills of a good presentation we learned last semester (eye contact, confidence, voice control, gestures used properly, etc). Dressing up or bringing a visual aid are also an option but are not required. We reviewed in class who would be presenting next week, but since this is late notice if you would prefer to wait until the following week that is absolutely fine.
We began our day by playing a game of 'Will The Winner Lose?' where the whole class was able to demonstrate material from the first twelve weeks with ease. Great job! Thirty memory marbles were earned for the class.
We moved on to the science experiment and art, where fun was had by all. Our science time will remain at 10am this semester and art will be at 11am.
Memory Helps
If you're using the audio CD to help with the English grammar, remember to learn the complete definition of an adverb (as printed in the red folder).
Latin is a review of the present tense of amo. Hand motions are optional; use them if they're helpful.
In geography, remember to practice map labeling. We got a little rusty over break. I will bring additional copies of memory work/map work recording sheets next week. And for Abigail I will have a binder with material we have been using so far to help with our learning.
Have a great weekend with your families!
Mrs Shaw
